THE
CROSSING
Three days, twenty-six kilometres, one unbroken line from the valley floor to the summit col. Our signature trek, drawn exactly the way it feels.
Everyone is brave at 1,400 metres.
The ridge you can see from the tents is the whole trip, drawn as one stroke. We walk it slowly, tea at seven, boots by eight, and the valley falls away faster than anyone expects.
The wind edits the group.
Rope up after the second cairn. The sky darkens early at this height and the temperature drops with it, but the ridge holds a line you could set a watch by.
A small orange dot on a big dark line.
You reach the col in the last of the light. Nobody talks for a while. Then someone passes the chocolate around and the whole mountain is quiet except for the flags.

The Crossing
Our classic valley-to-col route. Big exposure, honest pacing, and the best sunrise seat in the range.
The High Traverse
Two ranges, five camps, one week above the treeline. For walkers who want the long version.
Winter Col
The Crossing under snow. Crampons at dawn, frozen streams, and a col that feels like the moon.
The people
on the rope.
Every Atlas departure is led by a certified guide who has walked the route at least twenty times.
Ines Halvorsen
Forty-one crossings, two winter firsts, and a kettle that has brewed at every camp on the map.
David Okafor
Runs the High Traverse. Reads weather the way other people read email, and never once hurried a group.
Marta Sanz
Wilderness first responder and the reason dinner at 2,900 metres tastes better than most restaurants.
I booked for the view. I would go back for the quiet at the col, and for Ines saying "one more hour" in a way that made it true.Priya R. · The Crossing, October
